Dr. Betty Lok | Chiropractic Orthopedist,
Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncture Specialist

Dr. Betty Lok In 1993, Dr. Lok graduated Cum Laude from Palmer Chiropractic University, the fountainhead of chiropractic. She practiced in Illinois prior to her relocation to Ohio. In 2005, with four more years of advanced training, she became a Chiropractic Orthopedist. Only one percent of chiropractors advance to be chiropractic orthopedists. Their extensive training on bones and joints allows them to provide more in-depth care. Chiropractic orthopedists are qualified to perform casting for fracture.

Dr. Lok also certified in Electro Diagnostic Testing (Needle EMG Testing, etc.), Impairment and Disability Rating and an Independent Medical Examiner and File Reviewer.

Continuing improvement for mankind is the driving force behind her to continue education. With Physician ethics as her benchmark, she earns a reputation of an honest practice with outstanding care. She has been published in a pediatric chiropractic journal. Dr. Lok's primary principle is "Patient First."

Dr. Lok grew up in a small town in North Dakota. She is married to Kevin Lok, they have two lovely children, John and Catherine. She enjoys taking walks, cross-stitch, scuba diving, and reading. She is active in local church activities.

In 2008, she completed her training and is licensed for Acupuncture. She treats patients with chronic pain, weight, smoke addition etc. In addition, she enjoys helping women with cosmetic acupuncture. In 2012, Dr. Lok was the second doctor in Ohio to obtain the level of Diplomate of Chiropractic Acupuncture. In 2015 Dr. Lok is certified in Chiropractic Sports Physician.

Dr. Penny Sheperd | Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Penny Sheperd

Dr. Shepherd discovered the healing power of chiropractic, when she worked as an assistant to a chiropractor 1987.

She has fallen in love with chiropractic so much that she graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1997.

She treats most conditions. However her favorites are family, Pregnancy, Children, Rehab, and Wellness.

Dr. Shepherd is working full time in the Upper Sandusky office with Dr. Betty Lok.

She is a born Ohioan. Dr. Shepherd enjoys living in a small community.

Dr. Shepherd has a wonderful husband, Mark, three grown sons, and three granddaughters. She enjoys spending time outside, going to garage sales and flea markets. She loves knitting and quilting in her spare time.

Dr. David Black | Chiropractic Physician

Dr. David BlackDr. David Black is a 1977 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee, Iowa. He graduated with honors, was a member of the National honor Society. He earned three varsity letters in Track and Field and also lettered in Baseball.

After he graduated from the University of Iowa, in 1981 he attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic and he graduated Magna Cum Laude in December 1984. While attending Palmer College, he taught at the Palmer School of Chiropractic Technicians Public Health for one year and Spinal and Neuroanatomy for two years.

His current professional interests include general Chiropractic practice with an emphasis on children, sports injuries, and headaches

Dr. Black is married happily to Diana for 26 years. They have six children - Gretchen, Landon, Derek, Grace, Caleb and Lydia. In additional, they have four grandchildren.

He is interested in hunting, fishing and all sports of many kind, especially involving their children. He also has a keen interest in history with an emphasis on American history.

Mr. Kevin Lok | CEO

Mr. Kevin Lok Kevin Lok carries a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, and he was a leading design engineer for a large company in Illinois. Later he was recruited to Ohio by a local manufacturer. As the business of Mid-Ohio Chiropractic grew, it demanded his full-time attention. He believes in the win-win management style.

His philosophy on chiropractic is to "HELP PEOPLE." Most of the profit of business should return to the patients in the form of improving the quality of care, including state of the art equipment, staff training, faster services, good staff to patient ratio, maintaining an honest practice, outstanding billing service for patients, and being devoted to the community.

Kevin was born in Hong Kong. He was active in the US Navy and in the Reserve in the Iowa National Guard in aviation.
